The key is not to get discouraged and give up completely. Even the strongest, most dedicated people fall off the wagon for days, weeks, and even months at a time. What really matters is that you don't give up your diet or exercise regiment for good!

If you are having trouble motivating yourself this something you might want to try: Park your exercise equipment in front of the television, and exercise while you watch your favorite shows and/or movies. Remember, because you are at home you can do everything to make yourself comfortable and at ease without worrying about what other people think (they'll never know because they can't see you). (Image ©alenq on deviantART) When you begin exercising it is important to not over do it. This is easier said than done. It's really tempting to push yourself as hard as possible. Very often we feel like we need to "catch-up" for all the times before that we didn't exercise. You should always ease into new exercise regiments. Make sure to take things slow. The goal should be to exercise to point where the next day you feel mildly sore. If you're so sore you have difficulty moving then you overdid it, and if you are not sore at all you can probably increase the intensity next time you workout (just make sure not to increase it too much). But we always seem to want to lounge around, wasting a great opportunity for exercise: Playing [and getting exercise in] at the beach Running in sand, running in ankle deep water, swimming, and playing beach sports are all great exercises; and let's face it, playing at the beach is a lot of fun. So bring the friends and kids along and have some fun!

It really helps if they are on the same diet or exercise regiment, that way the two of you can help and support each other. This will help you stay motivated, and keep you on track. Likewise, it is important for you to encourage your friends and family when they are trying to lose weight. It might just help them, and maybe you'll get inspired by their progress! Weight loss should be a positive thing, both for you and the people around you.

Likewise there is no right exercise regiment, or correct exercise regiment. Try different diets and different types of exercise, and stick with what works for you!

But remember: All the apps in the world will not make up for a lack of diet and exercise. At some point you need to get up, stopping making excuses, and start doing.

Perhaps instead of lounging around and watching TV you can put in that exercise video, or play the Nintendo Wii (or or Xbox 360 Kinect or Playstation Move), or drive to your gym (most people in Miramar live in communities with gyms, or maybe you belong to one) and get a good workout?
