Hurricane Season: Traffic Lights and Four Way Stops

(Image ©Michal Zacharzewski)

Don’t get into an accident after the hurricane hits, know the traffic laws when the power goes out.

When traffic lights are not working they are treated as four-way stop signs.

It’s the law.

Each lane stops and yields for the cars that came before, or the cars with the right-of-way.

The only exception is State Road 84 where people will generally move through as if there is a traffic light there.

We know this is not necessarily “medical”, but preventing injuries is better than treating the injuries after they already happened!
