Many people detox or cleanse before they start a new diet.
This is not something we tell our patients to do before starting our weight loss program. We don’t use it, and we don’t believe it is necessary for any diet.
You are what you eat, this is true. But once you stop eating it, it will go away on it’s own. You don’t need to drink lots of water with cayenne pepper in it to accomplish that, your body will do it on it’s own. In fact, there is no evidence whatsoever that detoxing or cleansing does anything at all — for good or bad.
If you want to detox or cleanse we can’t stop you. In fact, if you are overweight and you keep it to a day or two then it is not necessary as bad or as dangerous as many people make it out to be. But it is hard to see why anyone should feel the need to do this.
